But here’s the thing — we’re all kind of like this.

This one is interesting because it’s basically a copy and paste of Psalm 14 except David, who also wrote Psalm 14, modified some things to make it apply to a current crisis. I only noticed this after I finished rewriting it, so it’s funny to compare this with what I wrote before. For a reliable translation, please see the ESV version.

The prototypical fool is someone who finds comfort in the idea that there is no god. They have been corrupted, and act accordingly. But here’s the thing — we’re all kind of like this.

When God searches the earth for someone wise who is searching for him with a pure heart,

he cannot find a single person walking that straight line. We’ve all been corrupted — nobody truly holistically embodies goodness.

Why do we do it? Why are we like this? Is there something we don’t understand that causes us to perpetuate evil, hurt others, and ignore God?

See what God is doing right now for you — he’s making the people who lay siege against you afraid despite them having the clear advantage! God is going to give you a chance to win this — take it!

I really hope one day God will save Israel from its attackers and restore its former glory. All of God’s people would celebrate that big time.
